Your First Visit

Thank you for choosing Parris Orthodontics in Germantown, Tennessee, for your orthodontic needs! Before your first visit, please take the time to read through the information on this page to better prepare for your appointment and know what to expect.

What is the goal of the first visit?

Our goal during your first visit is to get to know you and your orthodontic needs. Your first appointment will typically last around 45 minutes. Dr. Parris likes to meet and get to know his new patients so he can have a better understanding of their needs.

What happens during the first visit?

Your first visit is a one-on-one exam with Dr. Parris. During that time, if he thinks orthodontic work is needed, we will go forward with building your records, which include:

  • Photos
  • X-rays
  • Scans

Dr. Parris will review your records to better answer the big questions — when, what, and how long. We will be able to go over your orthodontic options and answer all questions at your consultation appointment.

How long after the first appointment can I get braces put on?

The timing of your braces application all depends on your orthodontic needs. Each and every patient has different treatment needs. Dr. Parris can better answer treatment questions once he has reviewed your full records.

What necessary forms need to be completed before my appointment?

We like for our patients to fill the new patient paperwork on our website prior to their first appointment. It helps Dr. Parris review everything before your appointment and gives him more time to spend getting to know you as a patient and how to better accommodate your orthodontic needs.

What information should I make the office aware of?

Please let us know of any medications the patient is currently taking. We are passionate about our mission to give everyone a great smile. Help us to help you and your child by letting us know of any delayed development, social disabilities, ADD, ADHD, Bipolar, Autism, Cleft, etc.

If you have any questions, please call us or fill out our online form. We look forward to seeing you at your first visit!
